OVERVIEW
Churches are often full of people who want to make a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable children, but don’t know how.
FAM (Family Advocacy Ministry) is a step-by-step ministry strategy that helps churches who need a plan and guidance to begin serving vulnerable children and families, and those who care for them. Advocates are volunteers or church staff equipped with coaching, training and resources to help launch, sustain and deepen their ministries.
Hephzibah62:4 comes alongside Wesleyan churches that are implementing FAM, resourcing and uniting local churches throughout the U.S. and Canada to bring momentum to our shared mission of transforming the lives of vulnerable children.
Depending on your church’s unique context, your FAM may include:
- Raising awareness and advocating for the needs of vulnerable children
- Recruiting individuals and families for adoption, foster care, respite and a variety of volunteer positions
- Providing a variety of supports to strengthen and preserve biological, foster and adoptive families
- Creating effective hands-on partnerships with other local churches and organizations
- Creating church-based programming to meet unique physical, relational, emotional and spiritual needs
- Encouraging and supporting local child welfare workers
HOW TO START A FAM
Every FAM will look different, but they have one thing in common: needs are met and lives are transformed. Local Wesleyan church Advocates can get started by connecting with Hephzibah62:4 for a Coaching Conversation.
